More Than 71,000 Commercial Registrations Issued in Q2 2026

The latest figures reflect continued business formation growth and expansion across technology, tourism, and other emerging sectors.

The Saudi Ministry of Commerce announced that more than 71,000 commercial registrations were issued during the second quarter of 2026, while the total number of active commercial registrations in the Kingdom exceeded 1.91 million.

The number of limited liability company registrations also exceeded 612,000, representing growth of 173% over the preceding five years.

The Ministry’s Business Sector Bulletin highlighted continued growth across several promising sectors and activities, including e-commerce, cloud computing, sports academies, tourism, and entertainment cities.

These figures reflect the continued expansion of Saudi Arabia’s business environment. However, efficient incorporation procedures do not remove the need to establish an appropriate legal and governance structure from the outset.

Founders and investors should determine the appropriate legal form, the powers of managers or directors, matters reserved for shareholder or partner approval, capital and financing arrangements, and restrictions on transfers of shares or ownership interests.

Businesses should also identify any additional licences required for their activities. The issuance of a commercial registration does not, by itself, replace approvals required from specialised regulatory authorities.

The continued growth in company formation reinforces the importance of effective governance, accurate corporate records, properly documented decisions, and a clear allocation of authority between owners and management.
